Course Details

The SIA Door Supervisor training course runs over 6 days and is divided into 4 units. At the end of the course, you will sit through a multiple choice examination. This course must be completed with one of our approved training providers available in over 40 locations. The course comprises of the following:

Course Assessment

At the of the course, you will be assessed on the course units. The assessment format for each unit is broken down below:

Unit 1 – Working in The Private Security Industry:

    • A multiple choice question exam with 72 questions. For each question, you will have to chose the correct answer from 4 options provided to you.

Unit 2 – Working as a Door Supervisor:

    • A multiple choice question exam with 50 questions. For each question, you will have to chose the correct answer from 4 options provided to you.

Unit 3 – Conflict Management for The Private Security Industry:

    • A multiple choice question exam with 20 questions. For each question, you will have to chose the correct answer from 4 options provided to you.

Unit 4 – Physical Intervention Skills for The Private Security Industry:

A multiple choice question exam with 30 questions. For each question, you will have to chose the correct answer from 4 options provided to you

All of the assessments will be conducted within the course duration.

    SIA Door Supervisor Licence?

Applying for your SIA Door Supervisor Licence can be broken down in the simple steps below:

Step 1: Complete the Door Supervisor course

    • The first step in applying for your SIA Door Supervisor Licence is to book, attend and pass the Door Supervisor training course.

Step 2: Apply through SIA website

      • The next step is to complete the forms on the SIA’s website. The SIA stands for Security Industry Authority and they issue the licence. The SIA is a government body and will check the following:
  • Your identity
  • Criminal record and background
  • Your course qualification

You do not need to provide any proof of your qualification as the SIA is able to check and validate qualifications electronically.

Step 3: Visit nearest Post Office

    • To facilitate your application, you will be required to go to your nearest participating Post Office with your identity documents after the SIA has checked and validated the course qualification you hold.
